Little ol' me

In September 2006 I, Astrid Christie, started my undergraduate Philosophy BA at Heythrop college in Kensington. Now, like every student, I'm struggling to make ends meet and find myself going to any lengths to make ends meet. Help a student in need! Fund my education and buy my stuff!

While I'm not studying or reeling off copious essays concerning Kant, I enjoy playing (and listening to!) classical music and amature dramatics. Favourite composers include Shostakovich, Beethoven and Dragonetti. I've played in many orchestras including the National Children's Orchestra (when I was younger!), the West Sussex County Youth Orchestra, the Worthing Philharmonic and more recently and regularly, the Sussex Symphony Orchestra. Some of my favourite playwrights are Brecht, Noel Coward, Minghella and, predictably, Shakespeare. I've performed with the West Sussex Youth Theatre, the Angela Scullin School of Drama and the East Grinstead Operatic Society. I enjoy a good book, anything ranging from James Joyce through to David Gemmell. I also enjoy fencing and I'm an intermediate in the University of London Fencing Society. I enjoy drawing and painting (mostly messy little doodles and cartoons, but I can honestly churn out something worthwhile now and again), and will happilly design website themes (buttons and banners and suchlike) for anyone who can piece them together with code (which I CAN'T do). In stark contrast, I like glam metal (Iron Maiden, Poison, Dogs D'amour, Aerosmith, etc.), Airsofting and long-distance hiking. Sadly, I do enjoy free jazz now and then. I am known to drink red wine, tia maria or bourbon from time to time.
