Many of the articles we supply are rare and unobtainable in any other format, and where there is occasionally a reprint or digital text version, we are usually a fraction of the cost of that competition. We also take pride in being able to offer our items in a simple, attractive hand bound format, which we feel makes for a more pleasant reading experience.
The first important aspect of our business lies in supplying antiquarian and rare periodicals, reviews and articles to academics, researchers, scholars, individual collectors, library suppliers and many others in their particular field of enquiry. We focus on the 18th and 19th centuries, with particular emphasis on history, travel, natural history, science, medicine, and the humanities.
The second important aspect of our work lies in the preservation and presentation of these rare and out of print titles in an attractive format which allows the work to integrate into any collection. Using heavy grade (300gm) card with dedicated printed labels to the upper cover, articles are hand bound in our bindery using the very strong 'hidden Japanese' binding technique, which is extremely durable.
Finally, all items are securely packaged to a professional standard in stiff card mailers with an invoice for your records. Improvements made for 2008 include a faster handling and despatch time for customers items, and reduced postal charges.
