Laurie and the Really Big Gear Wheel

The Booming Prairie Chicken is actually the name of a blog I created just so people could keep track of Laurie and I while we travelled. The funny thing was the blog kept getting more popular and sort of took on a life all it's own! Laurie and I are not your typical tourists; we engage in what can be best described as 'historical tourism'. We don't usually visit a location for the traditional tourist reasons. Sometimes historical tourism runs along with traditional tourism. The best example of this is visiting Gettysburg. I would bet most people go to Gettysburg because of the famous battle fought there. The thing is we often visit places for the bits of history that most people are unaware of. We also find things that most people would never dream of. You would be amazed how many historical sites are also allegedly haunted or have mysteries attached to them! Sometimes we are following the legends of lost treasure! Sometimes we are stopping to have a drink in the same place some historic figure once had a drink!

Our Ebay efforts are turning into a direct off-shoot of all this. We sell off a lot of stuff here. More money for the roadtrip or the research. You can not do a proper historical tour without a little research! It also pays to travel light when you can and why not dispense with what you don't need right here on Ebay?

Laurie is also a good one for discovering treasures and wonders along the road. We are thinking seriously of trying to sell some of these here. You just never know what she is going to find...
