The Centre for Complementary Care, Eskdale is a registered charity which operates from a former vicarage on the edge of Muncaster Fell, above Ravenglass in West Cumbria.

Established in 1990 the Centre is a non-judgmental place of peace and healing in an increasingly frightening and confusing world. Healing by gentle touch (also called therapeutic touch) is a non-intrusive and non-condition-specific treatment for most ills that afflict mankind from stress to terminal illness.

As well as healing the Centre offers support, advice and information in a friendly and non-threatening atmosphere. People are welcome to come and simply sit in the peaceful surroundings of the Chase, make themselves a cup of tea or coffee, or use us as a base for a fellwalking expedition.

We are an entirely independent organization with no religious or other affiliations. We apply no means tests of any kind.

The cost per one hour treatment is 50.00, but all who come to the Centre in search of help are seen, regardless of their ability to pay. We receive no statutory funding and are therefore entirely dependent upon local fundraising and charitable donations.

Muncaster Chase sits on the very edge of Muncaster Fell above the ancient ancestral home of the Pennington family - Muncaster Castle. Our large and semi-wild garden is the home of - amongst other things - red squirrels, jays, woodpeckers, sparrowhawks, siskins, goldfinches and nuthatches.

The Chase is an imposing mid 19th century building of pink Eskdale granite and St Bees sandstone, comfortably furnished throughout with items donated by our friends and supporters. Visitors to the Centre are encouraged to treat it as their second home.

Apart from the sellers fees and other small associated costs, you can be sure that all monies raised by the sale of items on eBay will go directly towards our charitable aims - to treat everyone who comes to us in need whether they can pay for their treatment or not.
