Animals In Distress was founded in 1967 to alleviate the suffering of sick and injured animals. This is still the main aim today. It is achieved through a number of methods. These include 24 hour rescue, veterinary treatment, neutering and a micro chipping scheme. These practical steps are backed up by education, advice programmes and work experience placements.
This work involves strays, abandoned animals, cruelty cases and road traffic accidents and with the new Retirement Home we are able to offer long term care to older animals.
Our auctions are to raise much need funds for the sanctuaries and will last for seven or ten days, most items may have been donated but we will sometimes purchase novel or unique items to ensure a continuance of auctions. All monies raised from the auctions (less listing fees) will be used for the benefit of the animals.
We reserve the right to not sell to bidders with negative feedback.
Information for Buyers UK Buyers – can pay by UK cheque drawn on a UK bank, UK postal order or by bank transfer. You can also pay by Paypal -
- if you choose this option we will ask you to consider paying our Paypal fees, so that all the proceeds from the auction benefit our animals. (This is not compulsory, just a request on our part).
Non-UK Buyers – can pay by Paypal, but as there will be a charge to us less money will go to help our animals. Regulations on non-UK credit do not permit us to pass the fees on to the buyer (although we believe you can make a contribution to the PayPal fees if you so wish, and make this clear in any correspondence).
Please note if you want to pay by a US Dollars check or a Euros cheque, please contribute towards the exchange costs ($5/€5).
