I am Diana, an artist based in Orange County, Laguna Beach area, in California. My current work is evenly split between the artistic exploration of the Pacific coast in Southern California and classical still life setups in my studio. My formal artistic education includes a Fine Arts High School and a Fine Arts Academy college degree from Europe, with a major in restoration and conservation of the ancient works of art for museums. Additionally, I have attended studio art classes and workshops at University of California San Diego and Athenaeum School of the Arts in La Jolla. My paintings are found in private collections in Japan, Canada, Europe and across United States. I am creating exclusively in oil. You can always find my paintings at:
Quality of artwork
and originality of subject and style is something I pay a great attention
to. I am very selective in the process of defining my subjects, composition,
and colors. Following that, I study my choices by producing several drafts
and drawings for each painting before I approach the canvas. Each canvas
is primed with acrylic gesso several times before I apply the oils. After
the painting has been finished and dried, I also apply museum quality
varnish. I wish for my patrons to enjoy the quality of my works for many
years.
Oils
After a number of years of working in different mediums I found the oil technique to be the most
rewarding. I have been working exclusively in oil ever since, much like
some of the great painters from the past that I admire the most. When
stored properly, oil paintings can last for centuries.
