L&M General Store is reminiscent of the old-fashioned general stores that were jam-packed with all kinds of goodies. Here you will find vintage collectibles, SheaMoisture leave-in conditioner, African black soap, & raw shea butter, DIY/hobby books & supplies, and more...plus GREAT customer service!
Our home-based business was born in November 2007 out of our love for vintage collectibles. We expanded to include general merchandise, which basically means that if we find inventory for a good price, we will definitely pass those savings along to our customers!
L&M General Store has recently tapped into the natural product market. We carry store brands such as Nubian Heritage, SheaMoisture, and Madina.
In addition to our store-brand natural and nature-inspired products, we also offer raw African black soap and raw Grade A shea butter, both imported from Ghana, West Africa.
Our African black soap is made organically in small batches by hand with pure virgin oils, plantain skins, cocoa pods, and other natural ingredients. We then cut the patches into bars that can be used as a face, body or hair cleanser. Black soap, in its true form, is not black in color at all. The mass-produced black soap that is jet black in color has actually been dyed black and can stain your sink, tub, and washcloth.
L&M General Store carries raw shea butter that is also imported from Ghana, West Africa.Shea butter is derived from the fruit of the shea-karite tree, which is found in the African tropics. Our shea butter is raw/unrefined, meaning it has been extracted using water. The color can be anywhere from a creamy, buttery shade to a golden yellow. For those who find raw shea butter difficult to spread, we will also be selling it hand-whipped with natural oils like avocado, coconut and jojoba. There is a grading system for shea butter, the highest quality being grade A.Grading is conducted by an independent laboratory to determine saponifiable faction (determines moisture) and non-saponifiable (composed of nutrients and vitamins).
