I can remember someone telling me when I was a little girl something that has stuck in my mind up until this day. I cannot remember this person's name, nor can I see their face but, I do know I will never forget what was said:
"Anyone has the ability to draw!"
...and it is true. Anyone can pick up a pencil and draw, the skill can be learned but the desire and passion has to be there before the skill can truly flourish.
To this day, art remains very much an important part of my life. Being creative is my way to unwind and escape from the sometimes harsh reality of life and the only time I can truly ‘switch off’ is when I paint.
My mood and current events tend to influence the style of work I produce, but my work generally fits into 1 of 2 styles. The first is a fun whimsical style which I use as a way to express my humour and wit… Something which my friends and family find incredibly hard to believe actually exists behind my ‘serious’ exterior. My other style is of a more realistic nature.
ACEO and SFA
I mainly sell ACEO (art card editions and originals) and SFA (small format art). I work in a variety of media but my favourites are acrylic on canvas for my SFA artwork and gouache for my ACEO artwork. 99% of the artwork I produce is animal based and 75% of that features cats.
Praise: Thanks again for another fab Sox sketch - highly recommended!
