Thanks for visiting my 'About Me' page. I spend far too much time on ebay but when I'm not doing that I earn a living as a freelance writer and historian, specialising in military history. Over the past few years I've written a number of books on the subject including 'Clash of Arms: Twelve English Battles' and 'Enemies at the Gate: English Castles under Siege', both published by English Heritage. I'm also a regular contributor to BBC History Magazine where I put together its monthly quiz and also the Milestones Section - a double page spread on the anniversaries of the month in question. I'm particularly interesed in castles, abbeys and battlefields and from spring to autumn I run battlefield hikes for English Heritage and also lead the 'Tours Through Time' programme of guided short Study Trips round the country - from Berwick to the Scillies - usually staying at some interesting historic hotel.
On ebay I particularly like to buy and sell items relating to the Second World War and the English Civil War. I often trade in WW2 British Army Training Pamphlets which, as well as selling, I also collect. My work involves quite a lot of UK travel so I'm a regular visitor to second-hand bookshops and junkshops across the country, on the lookout for interesting items for my collections. Over the years I've bought a vast number of books to help with my work but demands of space, and the need to fund two kids and an expensive ebay habit, now means that I've started selling some off. So keep an eye on my sales, you're sure to find a bargain!
