The Land Rover Orphanage was set up when film industry Stand-by Prop Richard Dalton was 'resting' (in between films).

His love for Land Rovers had been sparked in childhood and grew with him.  He learnt to drive in one, and talked incessantly about them through school and college.

Eventually he got enough money together and bought ‘Henrietta’, an e-reg 110 V8, which is still his daily runabout. From there his collection grew to the thirty plus he has today, including a Series One that he completely re-built after having dragged it out of what could easily have been its grave.

One day in 2003 he was surfing ebay when he realised that he could use it move on some of his excess spares.  Things then just mushroomed and less than a year later he registered The Land Rover Orphanage as a limited company.  Now the company has moved to its own premises Unit B1 Langley Park Way, Chippenham, Wiltshire (M4, J17)
