Terms and Conditions and General Information for All of My Listings
The following is for your protection and mine: it is therefore important that you read it carefully and make sure you agree to it before placing a bid on any of my items. By placing a bid you indicate your agreement and acceptance, so if you don't agree then please do not bid. I'm sorry if any of it sounds harsh but, as I'm sure you understand, I have to take steps to protect myself and my honest buyers from the minority on eBay who are timewasters and/or dishonest and spoil things for the innocent majority.

I am a member of ACES; The Association of Committed Ebay Sellers, and as such I adhere fully and wholeheartedly to their Code of Practice. Please see my feedback and the ACES web page, and feel free to ask me any questions, to bid with complete confidence.
The ACES web page can be found here:
My listings always comply with eBay rules to the best of my knowledge but, as the rules are so extensive and complicated and constantly being revised, it is not always easy to achieve this all of the time and therefore any help is appreciated. If you feel that any of my listings breach any eBay policies please contact me and let me know (rather than just reporting it to eBay), with links to policies if appropriate, and I will happily look into it and make any necessary revisions. Obviously if after notifying me and allowing time for revisions you still feel that a listing breaches a policy, then you are still at liberty to report it as you see fit.
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, 'bidding', 'bid', 'bids' etc. refer to any form of committing to buy; including (but not limited to) bidding, 'Buy it Now' or 'Best Offer', even if each is not explicitly stated separately.
* General Information *
All my items come from a smoke-free home.
All clothing items have been washed, with non-biological detergent, unless new or otherwise stated.
Please note that I have a cat and although I always keep items I'm selling away from her and endeavour to ensure any cat hairs are removed from items before posting, inevitably the odd few still get through. If you are not happy with this then please don't bid.
Please be realistic and fair when purchasing clothing items: you can never guarantee that something will fit when you buy without trying on, but the low prices on eBay make it a risk worth taking. The seller of an accurately described item cannot be held responsible for whether it fits a particular individual or not, nor for if you disagree with the information stated on the label by the manufacturer, e.g. the size.
In order to enable bidders to make an informed choice I always describe my items as fully and accurately as possible. I am also always happy to answer any questions. Any measurements, size estimates or opinions given in addition to information from the garment label are given in good faith as a guide only, not a guarantee, and as such are not a basis for unfavourable feedback, nor for returns except under my standard policy (see the 'Returns Policy' section on my listings) - which you can use even if you change your mind!
If there are any problems with your purchase please contact me before leaving feedback as I will always do my best to resolve any issues.
If you would like to contact me about an item please use the 'Contact seller' or 'Ask seller a question' link on the item page if possible, so that it is easy for me to see who the message is from and what it is about. If you do send me an email directly please ensure you include your user ID and the item number and/or title in the email subject line. If you would like to contact me for any other reason please use the 'Contact member' link on my profile page.
* Payment *
Payment must be made within 7 days of the end of the auction or an Unpaid Item Dispute will be opened. However, out of courtesy, please endeavour to pay sooner than this. If you really really want something and payday is a distant speck on the horizon, I may be willing to wait a bit longer for payment; but ONLY if you contact me to make arrangements BEFORE bidding. (Alternatively you could go to the Post Office and buy Postal Orders using your credit card!)
Acceptable payment methods are clearly stated, so do not attempt to pay by any other method unless you have made an arrangement with me BEFORE BIDDING.
Whichever payment method you choose, please ensure that you complete the eBay checkout for your item (by clicking the 'Pay now' button and following the instructions), so that I know which postage service you require, how you are paying, and that your payment is on its way.
If you are outside the UK please also see the 'Very Important Additional Information for non-UK Bidders' section below for further information on acceptable payments.
If an unacceptable payment is received, it will not be returned unless appropriate postage costs are paid.
Standard Accepted Payment Methods
The following payment methods are accepted without the need for prior arrangement:
UK:
Bank transfer (preferred)
Personal Cheque
Postal Order
Banker's Draft
Europe:
Bank transfer in Euros or Pounds Sterling (must not incur me any charges)
British Postal Order
Worldwide:
British Postal Order
Canadian Postal Money Order in Pounds Sterling
Additionally I can accept personal cheques from outside the UK if they are in pounds sterling and drawn on a UK bank.
ANY other payment method requires a prior arrangement to be made with me BEFORE bidding (see 'Other Payment Methods' below).
Payment Details:
Bank Transfer: This is my preferred payment method. It is secure, fast and easy; and within the UK it is also FREE!
For further information on bank transfer payments please see this useful eBay Guide: Payment by Direct Bank Transfer
The details you will need to make your payment will be sent to you after the auction ends. It is very important that you carefully follow all of the instructions given. To pay in Euros you must first contact me so that I can let you know the correct amount in Euros and provide further instructions. If you would like any further information please don't hesitate to ask.
Payment by post:
* Ensure that you complete checkout.
* Write your eBay user ID and the item number on the back of your payment. This applies to all postal payments but is especially important for postal orders.
* It is helpful if you print a copy of the payment summary page, after completing checkout, and include it with your payment.
* If you do not follow these instructions it is likely to delay the dispatch of your item, or in the extreme can result in an Unpaid Item Dispute being filed if your payment is delayed or lost in the post, or if it is not clear who it is from, because I will not know that you have sent it.
Cheque: Please allow 12 days from when I receive your cheque payment, for it to be paid in and cleared, before dispatch of your item (On the advice of my bank, to be sure of clearance, I do not dispatch items before the seventh working day after a cheque is banked).
When I receive a payment I always click 'Mark as Payment Received' on the item; so you will be able to see in your 'Items I've Won' view, or by clicking 'View Payment Details', that it has been received. Alternatively, to save time and postage, you can pay your cheque directly into my bank account. If you would like to do this you can use the same details as provided for bank transfer, which are sent by email after the end of a listing. Postal Order: Uncrossed postal orders will ensure the quickest dispatch, as I can cash them at the post office and dispatch immediately. Crossed postal orders will, like cheques, be subject to clearance time as above. For general information about Postal Orders, plus prices and international availability, see the Post Office's website: http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/content2?catId=19400182&mediaId=19900224 Other Payment Methods * I will consider payment methods other than the above only if you contact me to make an agreement, for each individual item if applicable, BEFORE bidding. Before doing this you may want to check eBay's rules regarding payments: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/accepted-payments-policy.html I will not accept anything from their 'Not Permitted' list, so do not ask me to. * Agreement for one item does not constitute agreement for any other item. * If you do not make an arrangement with me BEFORE bidding, you will NOT be able to pay by any method other than those stated above under 'Standard Accepted Payment Methods'. Paypal: Due to account restrictions I am unable to accept Paypal if the payment is funded by credit or debit card, and it is not viable to 'upgrade' my account to do so as the fees would make the starting prices of my items too high: Therefore I am no longer able to offer Paypal at all as an option because, due to changes in eBay's rules, a seller is no longer permitted to offer Paypal as a payment option (not even simply by written instructions in the description) unless they accept all forms of Paypal payment including cards.
This means that if you pay promptly by cheque it can take on average two to three weeks for your item to arrive with you; also depending on which postal service you select, and how long it takes for your cheque to reach me.
If you are in a hurry I recommend paying by bank transfer or uncrossed postal order instead.
* Delivery *
The item will only be sent once cleared payment has been received. This is not negotiable.
I use pre-used packaging wherever possible to keep postage charges to a minimum and to save waste.
I always calculate postage costs accurately for each item, using published information at the time of listing. The stated postage charge is only ever to cover my costs for posting the item: I do not overcharge my buyers for postage or charge a 'handling fee', so if the postage charge for an item is high it is because unfortunately it is heavy.
To cover myself I always quote the postage at packet rate (unless otherwise stated), and for the heaviest packing material; i.e. worst case scenario. However, when packing an item I will always try to fit it into the cheapest category and weight bracket possible, so that any savings can be passed on to the buyer.
My Postage Guarantee: If I find that postage and packaging of an item costs me significantly less than I have charged then I will refund the difference, either by bank transfer (UK only), Paypal (funded by direct debit; therefore acceptable to any type of Paypal account), or as a credit towards the future purchase of another of my items. There is no time limit for this credit; however, I am under no legal obligation and therefore you will have no claim on any outstanding credit if I should cease selling or cease to be an eBay member at any time in the future (for which I have no current plans). I'm sorry but it is not viable to make postage refunds by any other method.
Combined Postage:
* I am happy to combine postage for multiple purchases wherever viable; please contact me for details because the cost will depend on the specific items purchased, as I always calculate postage accurately for each individual item.
* To receive a postage discount you MUST wait for a combined invoice before paying. No discount will be given if you do not do this.
* If you are waiting for another item to end before paying then please let me know, especially if the item you are waiting for ends more than 24 hours after the first item.
* Please note that, due to the Royal Mail's pricing structure, individual postage is sometimes cheaper than combined; therefore because of this, and because I do not overcharge for postage, there will not always be a postage discount for multiple purchases.
UK Delivery
I check all UK addresses on Royal Mail's database and, for insurance reasons, I will not deliver to an address that it does not recognise. If your address is very new and therefore not on the database then contact me before bidding and I'll see what I can do.
In order to avoid potential delays I recommend that you check before completing checkout (preferably before you bid) that your address is recognised on the Royal Mail database: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/addressfinder
If it isn't then you will need to change the delivery address at checkout to a recognised address where you will be able to accept delivery of your item; perhaps that of a friend or relative, or your workplace.
Items will be sent by Recorded Delivery or other appropriate trackable service as stated. This provides protection for both buyer and seller. Insurance up to the value of £36 is included as standard with Royal Mail.
The default UK postage option is always the cheapest available (obviously excluding collection!) and is usually 2nd Class Recorded: therefore if 2nd Class Recorded is not listed as an option on an item it is because it is not available; which will usually be because the item, when packaged, is too heavy (the current weight limit for 2nd class is 1kg).
Collection:
You are welcome to collect any of my items in person unless otherwise stated. Please contact me within 48 hours of the end of the auction to arrange a date and time. Unless otherwise stated, payment can be made by any standard accepted method, but must be cleared before collection. Alternatively you can pay in cash on collection, but please bring the exact amount as I cannot guarantee that I will have change.
An Important Note About Royal Mail:
I always take my items to the Post Office, pay the correct postage and obtain proof: Therefore Royal Mail should never ask you to pay postage for a parcel from me (mandakins888 is always written on the sender label, so you can easily tell if it's from me); if they do it means that the postage label has fallen off in their system, and it is very important in these circumstances that you DO NOT PAY.
Instead you should refuse delivery and request that the item is returned to sender, upon receipt of which I will prove to them that the correct postage was paid and they can re-deliver. (It would be helpful in this situation if you email me to let me know.)
Although I have heard of this happening to other eBayers, it has not happened to me and is rare; and is very unlikely to happen to one of my items because I always use recorded delivery - ALL of the labels would need to fall off! In the very unlikely event that this does happen I am not responsible for the delay it will cause, as I do not design the Royal Mail's machines or labels ;-), nor for any excess postage/surcharges incurred by failure to follow the above advice.
This advice applies to UK deliveries: To be honest I have no idea of the best way to proceed in the very unlikely event that this occurs with a non-UK delivery, but I am not responsible for events beyond my control after dispatch of your parcel. I am of course however always prepared to try and help in any way I can with any problems, provided that I am contacted before feedback is left.
Delivery to Outside the UK
I will NOT post to Nigeria under any circumstances.
Due to problems with members in the past, I do not sell to members registered in Spain; if you are registered in Spain please do not bid as your bid will be cancelled. My sincere apologies to any genuine buyers registered in Spain.
For my protection and yours, items will be sent using either: Royal Mail International Signed For (Airmail); Royal Mail Airsure; or another trackable service as appropriate. The stated postage charges reflect this. Insurance up to the value of £36 is included as standard with Royal Mail.
I calculate postage costs as accurately as possible according to published information at the time of listing, and they are quoted in good faith, but I reserve the right to reasonably increase the postage charge if necessary to cover any increased costs associated with postage to your specific location.
Customs clearance, if applicable, and any associated charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
* Other General Information and Terms *
* ALL non-paying bidders WILL be reported and negative feedback left.
* I am a perfectly reasonable person, but I am not psychic; so if you are having trouble with payment contact me IMMEDIATELY to avoid having an Unpaid Item Dispute filed against you. Likewise, if you are unhappy with your purchase or any aspect of the transaction please contact me before leaving feedback so that I can resolve the problem; I can't help you if you don't tell me that you are unhappy. Much as I try I still haven't managed to develop the skill of reading people's minds ;-)
* Under eBay rules, I MUST file an Unpaid Item Dispute in order to claim back the Final Value Fee for an unpaid item, so please don't complain or leave unfavourable feedback if you do not pay and you are reported.
* In the event of a genuine mistaken bid, contact me straight away and BEFORE the end of the auction and I MAY be able to cancel your bid for you, but this is entirely at my discretion.
* Please remember that YOU are responsible for all bids placed from your user account, and all bids are binding; so if you don't want others to bid as you, then don't let them have access to your account.
* I do NOT give in to bullying or feedback extortion and I report all such incidents to eBay, so don't even think about trying.
* I reserve the right to cancel any bid or sale if the stated conditions are not met, or if by proceeding with the sale I would be in breach of any applicable law. In these circumstances, as appropriate, I will return any (acceptable) payment already received.
A Few Notes About Feedback:
If you are happy with your item and my service then I obviously appreciate it if you leave me positive feedback, especially if you comment specifically on anything you are particularly pleased with, as my reputation as a seller depends on it.
However I will never harass you to leave feedback since it is a voluntary system and not a compulsory part of the transaction, and is therefore entirely your choice whether you leave me feedback or not. Unlike some eBayers I don't behave like it's the end of the world if I don't receive a feedback for every transaction, as I have far more important things to worry about!
I also do not leave feedback on a reciprocal or tit-for-tat basis, unlike some sellers who will not leave positive feedback until the buyer does: I don't believe that is fair. Feedback I leave is always a fair reflection of the transaction from my perspective, and may be left before or after the buyer leaves feedback.
Please be patient and do not send me emails asking for feedback: It is my choice whether to leave feedback for you, the same as it is your choice whether to leave feedback for me, and I always endeavour to leave appropriate feedback for each transaction within a reasonable time, but this will not necessarily be immediately. Occasionally I will opt not to leave any feedback if a transaction has been less than perfect but I do not feel it was bad enough to warrant a neutral or negative. If you harass me by email for feedback, my feedback for you is likely to reflect that fact.
Please remember that feedback is not a means of communication between buyer and seller, but is for your comments on the overall transaction in order to aid other eBayers in making informed choices: Therefore it should not be left until you consider the transaction to be complete. If there are any problems with your purchase the transaction is not complete and so you should not leave feedback, but instead contact me by email to resolve the problem first.
By leaving feedback you indicate that you believe the transaction to be complete: Therefore if you leave me negative or neutral feedback without contacting me first to resolve the problem then I will consider the matter closed. Obviously if you leave positive feedback and then subsequently discover a problem please contact me and I will do my best to resolve it.
*VERY IMPORTANT Additional Notes for non-UK Bidders*
If you are outside the UK it is very important that you read and understand the following, in addition to the above, BEFORE you place a bid or click 'Buy it Now'. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make sure you understand: If you are unsure of anything use the 'Ask Seller a Question' link on the item page to ask me BEFORE placing a bid or committing to buy.
General Information for non-UK bidders:
* Clothing and shoe sizes quoted are UK sizes unless otherwise stated, which are DIFFERENT from US sizes.
* PAL video cassettes WILL NOT WORK in a standard US video player.
* DVDs other than Region 1 WILL NOT WORK in a standard US DVD player.
Payment from Outside the UK:
It is your responsibility to make sure before you bid that you are able to pay by an accepted method.
When listing items I select the appropriate acceptable payment options from those available on eBay.co.uk, which is where all of my items are listed. However, I have discovered that other eBay sites do not display the accepted payment methods exactly as selected, but instead display the nearest local equivalent. This may result in your country's eBay site displaying a particular payment method as acceptable on my items when in fact it is not. As I'm sure you can appreciate, this is entirely beyond my control. To avoid any potential confusion please see the payment section above for clear information as to which payment methods I accept.
Do not bid or commit to 'Buy it Now' on any of my items unless you are sure that you are able to pay by one of the standard accepted methods, or you have ALREADY asked and I HAVE AGREED an alternative method. This is VERY IMPORTANT because if you do not follow these instructions an Unpaid Item Dispute WILL be filed against you and negative feedback will be left. You will NOT be able to negotiate an alternative method of payment after bidding or committing to buy, as that would not be fair on other members who follow the instructions.
When placing a bid please use the 'Ask seller a question' link to let me know how you intend to pay if you are the winning bidder. This is for my peace of mind and to avoid having to file Unpaid Item Disputes, which are unpleasant for everybody. If you do not do this and I suspect that you will be unable to pay then I may, at my discretion, cancel your bid and/or block you from placing further bids until you let me know your intended payment method.
