The Noizeworks was established over 12 years ago by me (Simon Thompson) after approxiamately 16 years in pro-audio and music retail. After stints with various organisations including 'Rod Argents Keyboards'(a wonderful time!) and Digital Village, I decided it was time to 'go it alone.'

My original interest in music lay firmly with keyboards and synthesizers (I think watching the video for Emerson, Lake and Palmer's 'Fanfare for The Common Man" on Top of the Pops first sparked my interest!) Oh no, now I'm really showing my age!

The Noizeworks Sound Hire Company

However, after stints playing in several live bands in and around London I developed an interest in the technical aspects of live music and PA equipment. Thus The Noizeworks PA hire company was born and still exists today. (You'll find me behind the desk of a live sound console in a venue most Friday and Saturday nights.) I've been 'behind the desk' and involved in live sound for artists as diverse as Jon Bon Jovi, Fish, John Otway, The Drifters, UK Subs, Chas and Dave!, and even former UK prime minister John Major!

In addition to engineering gigs I've also found time to write a couple of live sound technical articles which you can find on The Noizeworks website. The Noizeworks Sales Company

As much as I enjoy being a live sound engineer, I didn't want to leave my 'sales' career behind, so I set up the sales side of The Noizeworks just over four years ago supplying a selected range of pro-audio products with the emphasis on accessory type products such as cases, cables and stands. The company has since developed and we now supply a much broader range of products including mixing consoles, microphones, power amplifiers, outboard equipment and loudspeakers from big name companies such as Soundcraft, Crest Audio, Meyer, JBL, Beyerdynamic, Wharfedale, Allen and Heath, DBX and many others, to an equally diverse range of clients including solo artists, duos and bands as well as education organisations, churches and other sound hire and installation companies.

We Don't Just Sell It, We Use It!

Having spent many years hiring sound equipment in many varied live-sound scenarios, The Noizework is equipped with a deep knowledge and experience of all things 'live-sound' and we're still learning! Many of the pro-audio products we sell through The Noizeworks we've got to know through using it at gigs and events so we can offer an insight into the 'real world' performance of many products and not just repeat the manufacturers claims. We know better than anyone that cheapest is not always best, but we do particularly like products that take performance to a new level at any given price point(We've recently been checking out the new Soundcraft MPM20 mixer alongside the new JBL MRX512M with 'The Drifters' and can happily report that both items are in this category)

We sell a selection of products through our E-bay store. We've been using E-bay for just over a year and at the time of writing we've carried out over 650 transactions.

Service and Support Second To None, Before, During and After The Sale

In all honesty, I'm a little frustrated by the impact the internet has had on businesses throughout the world. I think the internet is a wonderful tool and a great source of information, but for me you can not beat hard, real world experience, knowledge and commitment to service both before and after the sale. So often unavailable from typical internet 'warehouses.'The internet lets you compare the price of a product from hundreds of different suppliers, but not the service and support! An essential part of The Noizeworks support is our 'never miss a gig' policy which means if an item fails we'll supply you with a replacement or loan item if the oringinal item is being repaired (another advantage of combing a hire company with a salesorganisation).
