Vale Wildlife Rescue is a Registered Charity (No. 702888) dedicated to the care & rehabilitation of sick, injured & orphaned wild animals & birds.
Our main aim is to release the casualty back into its natural environment as soon as it is fit.
We treat over 4,500 casualties every year, with running costs of well over £18,000 per month, all of which we have to raise ourselves.
We could not keep going without the support of regular donations, Membership subscriptions & our own constant fundraising.
We have full veterinary facilities within the Hospital & are on call 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
Although we are only able to deal with casualties in our part of the country, we are available to anyone to give help & advice, & we can usually find a centre close to any casualty.
We also run courses in Wildlife First Aid, Treatment & Rehabilitation & we have been granted planning permission for an Education & Training Centre to enable us to expand on our teaching services, not only running more courses but taking in UK & foreign students for work experience placements.
The cost of this exciting project is going to be around £400,000 & we need your help to raise this.....
Vale Wildlife Rescue was set up in 1984 for the purpose of helping some of the thousands of wild animals & birds that are injured on a daily basis throughout the UK.
Most of these injuries occur as a result of human activity, mostly unintentional (although we do see cases of deliberate cruelty such as badger baiting).
Our continued encroachment onto wildlife habitats through road & house building is causing major problems for our wildlife, vehicles cause vast numbers of injuries, during the spring & summer months cats cause devastation to baby birds & mammals, even carrying out jobs in the garden can result in injury to wildlife.
