I made my very first Nappy Cake came when a close friend of mine had her baby unexpectedly early and I was in a bit of a panic as to what to get her.

 I had previously come across the “Nappy Cake” (or Diaper Cake in this instance) from an episode of “SEX and the CITY” in which Carrie presented one to Miranda at her Baby Shower, so I sort of knew what they were …….

……..  Being that I already had a large collection of baby items and nappies in my possession in preparation for my own baby, I put one together for my friend.   The complements that I received were completely overwhelming and gave me an enormous amount of pride and confidence.   My poor friend however was put in a room of her own and unfortunately, due to this nappy cake that I had made, created more traffic in her room than Piccadilly Circus.  Nurses were bringing people in and out all day to show them & asking where it came from ……

.........  Following this, I received three phone calls from husbands/partners who’s wives/girlfriends had just had their babies begging me to make them one ....  Needless to say, following this phenomenal response and the arrival of my own beautiful baby daughter Rebecca (who we call Beccyboo) …
