Hi there, if you have bought an item from me before you probably know that I specialise in vintage, antique doll's, toys and collectables but you may not be aware that I am also a vintage and antique doll restorer. From time to time you will find that I have listed a doll that I have fully restored, as I always state this and offer pictures of before and after, if required. However, when you buy any doll from me you can expect to receive a doll that has had some restoration, although this can mean that the doll has simply been gently cleaned, perhaps re-dressed, or has had the hair tidied or re-styled.  I also make several accessories for dolls, including vintage style dolls dummies and Tressy doll hair keys that are made in hard resin over a metal key stub. I also make mohair dolly wigs, dresses, hats, bonnets and shoes, using vintage patterns. The following pictures are before and after pictures of an Eegee, Miss Charming composition doll 1936, that I restored recently. Miss Charming is a Shirly Temple look-a-like doll.

I am trained in Education and Arts and have worked as a restorer for many years. My specialiality is in composition and papier mache but I also fix bisque, vinyl and hardplastic.  

Watch out for Vintage Christmas Fairy doll's in the run-up to Christmas 2009. These are small vintage doll's by makers such as Roddy, Pedigree, Rosebud, Palitoy and others that I have  redressed as Christmas fairies. I buy the doll's in good condition but they have either lost, or have damaged costumes or clothes. My aim is preservation in all of my restoration work and re-dressing these doll's as a fairies is a way of extending that. All of the outfits are hand- made and sewn onto the doll, I never use glue or any material that will damage the doll.

These are two of the doll's I re-dressed last year. One a late 1940's hard plastic Roddy doll with painted tin sleeping eye's,  

the other an un-marked hard plastic googly eyed ethnic doll most probably made in the 1950's
