We source all of our items directly from our suppliers and manufactures, many of our items are designed by us and not sold to any other retailers.

Our Collections.

Our range of products are all manufactured from solid wood by skilled Carpenters to the highest standard using the finest grade timbers available, we never use veneers or plywood in any parts of our furniture construction, all items are packed in protective packaging.

Our Eco-Friendly Hevea  wood range is sourced from managed plantations in Thailand, the Hevea tree is grown for between 15 to 20 years and in that time the Sap (Latex) is extracted on a daily basis and is used in manufacturing a huge range of products.

After 15 to 20 years the trees are then harvested for there wood as the tree no longer produces the Latex, the wood is then fashioned into useable lengths (1 to 1.3 meters) for making furniture and many other items, any off cuts or waste wood is used to make Charcoal and fuel and even the saw dust goes on to be used in the textile industry for colouring fabrics, and making wood based panels such as particle board.

The obvious advantages that Hevea wood offers us is that it actually is environmentally friendly as the whole process is managed thus having no impact on the environment, our supplier alone employs over 300 local employees in there factory offering the local people a proper wage and skilled career in a safe environment. The wood can be stained with colour to match other species such as Mahogony, Cherry, Walnut and Oak .

Our latest addition to our collection is our "reclaimed " Teak wood range, this is something we are very proud of, the wood used in making our furniture can be anything between 100 and 200 years old and gives a finish and end result unlike anything anywhere else on the market today.

 Teak is regarded as one of the most beautiful, high-quality woods manufactured today. It’s a very dense, straight-grained hardwood with a coarse texture, high natural oil content, and a distinctively aromatic scent.

Widely renowned for its durability and resistance to rotting, teak is almost impervious to the effects of sun, rain, frost, and snow. Its high level of resinous oil acts as a natural insect repellent, giving it a very high resistance to termites. Due to its hard-wearing nature, teak has been the timber of choice in shipbuilding for hundreds of years.  also as the wood is seasoned "antique" the likelyhood of the wood shrinking or expanding is greatly reduced compared with other similar timbers, also because of the natural qualities of Teak wood it can be finished in natural and have a fantastic durable finish with no need for Toxic polyurethane Lacquers or Toxic wood stains used in Oak furniture production.

At East Coast Furniture we are constantly working with many suppliers of reclaimed wood from India, China, Thailand and Indonesia focusing on recycling of old wood, we reclaim wood from old furniture, doors, window frames, virtually anything that has past its natural life span, we then work with our skilled teams of carpenters and designers to bring new life into the wood.

The result is a “New Antique” hand crafted, and totally unique in its design and the materials used in its construction, the overall effect is truly stunning, we also believe that a piece such as this has a value that would not normally be found in a new piece of furniture.

East Coast Furniture offers a wide range of  FSC certified (forest stewardship council)  Teak furniture. Our suppliers based in central Java use some of the finest timber available to the furniture construction industry.

What Is FSC ?

FSC is the strictest of the forest harvesting certification processes. The FSC was created in the 1990s by environmental and social groups, foresters and landowners to provide consumers with a rigorous, independent system for identifying products from ecologically, socially, and economically well-managed forests.

Most of our items have a 6 week delivery time, but can be much sooner, depending on when your order is received, all items can be collected from our distribution depot in Dereham near Norwich (UK), alternatively we will be happy to arrange delivery for you using a professional furniture removal team.

All items are available to the Aachen area of Germany and Northern France collection and delivery service available, please contact us for details or a quotation.
