Welcome to my ‘about me’ page
I create and sell only original pieces of art from various styles and materials. I generally use a mix media approach while painting i.e. acrylics, watercolours, oil pastels, black ink, and charcoal. It really depends on my mood; therefore you can guess my work is very expressive. I work on quality watercolour paper, acrylic hardboard, Indian hand-made paper, canvas fabric and man-made canvases. I also create hand-crafted greeting cards and ACEO cards. |
I have been selling artwork on eBay since November 2007 and so far my work is in numerous private collections across the UK. It all started when I found some old pieces of work while clearing my junk in my parents’ house, someone mentioned selling them on eBay, so I did. What is really fantastic is seeing previous customers coming back again. It's great and I wish I could spend all my time on my artwork but unfortunately I also work full-time in a public art gallery, so every moment of my spare time I try to dedicate it to my art.
Some feedback I have had:
"Love the colours. Always a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended. AAA+++"
"Very impressed - even better than expected. Also beautifully packed! Thank you!" |
The Artwork:
My contemporary practice applies playing with a variety of mediums i.e. sculpture, painting, installation, photography and video. I still work in various ways and on various projects (three to be exact) and encourage myself to learn new skills and practises, for example I am teaching myself monotype, screen-printing and animation.
However on eBay, I am currently only selling paintings and drawings from my ‘Ancient Britain’ and ‘funnywomen’ projects. |
|
‘Ancient Britain’ is inspired by my ancestral past; I am influenced by the traditions of my Celtic cousins, the Neolithic, Iron and Bronze Age megaliths and cromlechs. The mysterious glyphs and carvings found on these stunning stones and their overwhelming imprint on the British landscape and seascapes. |
 |
"I try to portray the energy and magic that surrounds these magnificent stones and glyphs either in their natural habitat or in my imagination. A very important key in my work is colour, it’s a fantastic tool for which I love to experiment and explore with." |

|
‘funnywomen’ is my surreal, experimental and expressive practice. Intensely personal, private, obscure images spread across canvases and in loose ink drawings represent complex but mundane human emotional angst. Captured through powerful colours and dynamic compositions, they are an expression of day to day desires and fears with the help of light hearted humour. The contribution of text in the work, written in English and my mother tongue Welsh adds both conflict and augmentation to the images. |
