A little about 'Boatish'.

I chose 'boatish' as my eBay ID because I used be a merchant seaman and have an interest in boats of all types - including living on one.  Residing on board has a small disadvantage with regard to Ebay - I have no internet access out of business hours and therefore cannot  usually reply to emails during evenings or Sundays.   Despite this small drawback I totally enjoy both buying and selling on Ebay and very occasionally meeting some friendly sellers with great personalities when collecting larger items or orders in person. 

During the day I am primarily a leather craftsman, known as "Mister Natural" and this is something I have been doing since sea-going days.  I make small leather goods for sale - from items such as belts, wallets, dog harnesses, leather belts to order for theatrical companies, duffle bags...

...etc for general sale,  through to some times larger goods and very occasionally to the more bizarre as ordered.  Each item, being hand-made, is unique.  Local people and businesses call in with their orders, and people further afield order goods online.

I also sell various makes of luggage, laptop & computer cases, wardrobe cases, handbags, briefcases, etc and stock includes Pelicases (great for marine use to protect laptops and other electrical goods as they are strong, totally waterproof and float), Sandstorm canvas & leather water resistant travel bags, GAG trunks, Antler luggage, Jacobs, Smith & Cavona, Zero Halliburton, and much more. I am also the authorised repairer in Wales for Antler Luggage.

In the course of business I'm also called out to repair leather uphostery, car seats etc, or to arrange  new or replacement seating in homes, offices and boats.

My business premises includes a small workshop, complete with a heavy duty vintage, but reliable, leather sewing machine run by foot treadle, and a retail area.  I have a part-time assistant, C, whose cheerful and helpful presence makes it possible for me to keep up with  incoming and outgoing work loads and schedules.  My website work is done (on an intermittent basis) by  P who has more internet access and previous (amateur) experience on this, and the site is being updated by her little by little.
