EBAY HAS PREVENTED ME FROM SELLING FOR THE NEXT 4 WEEKS, quoting 'poor seller performance', but the actual reason is too many buyer disputes.
I currently have 5 buyer disputes open, 3 have received their item, are happy with their purchase, but have not closed the dispute. The other 2 have items lost in the postal system, and have been sent 2nd copies of the items purchased, although the disputes for these items have not been closed.
The new feedback system, and associated rules and regulations is the bane of ebay sellers lives. I may close my ebay account shortly, if this feedback one-sided system is not rectified.
I can still be contacted via the ebay message system, and will reply within 24 hours
You may have noticed some Negative and Neutral feedback attached to my 5847 positive feedback.
(I have left 6598 Feedback, as some buyers do not bother to leave feedback)
I have. in the past. tried to analyse this Negative/Neutral feedback.
But in the past 12 months, the many changes and restrictions placed on the feedback system enable buyers to leave negative & neutral feedback without any comeback. I always leave feedback for the buyer when cleared payment is received. This leaves The Booktower’s Feedback page vulnerable is abuse from buyers, and there has been occasions when a buyer has threatened to leave negative feedback, unless they get a refund, or some discount when they not entitled.
For example, a buyer recently emailed to say the book they had purchased contained no colour photographs and was ‘not as large as I perceived the book to be’. (The listing described the book, with contents list and list of illustrations, two photos and no mention of the size, although a clear, colour, full photograph of the actual book demonstrates the size and thickness of the volume) and the buyer asked no questions about the book, either during or after the auction.
Another buyer requested a full refund as the postage & packaging cost of a car part was 47p more than the parcels actual postage label. I refused a full refund, but offered to refund the 47p, the buyer then emailed with the threat of negative feedback unless I refunded, and they kept the car part. I refused and so negative feedback was left.
A Buyer recently emailed me before the end of the auction to say he would be leaving negative feedback, (as he was too simple, to read the auction and look at the photograph provided) - and this was before he won, paid or received the item. Needless to say i await his negative feedback, and then i will reply with the facts.
In conclusion, as an ebay powerseller, I have little confidence in the feedback system, and ask any potential customer to read the positive feedback, as well as the negative and neutral and gain a fuller picture of the service provided by The Booktower. On average, for every 130-180 items sold receive positive feedback each month, 1-2 negative/neutral feedback is received.
