My Rides!!!
Hi I am very passionate about bikes and trikes, riding modifying and looking at, particularly at races!!! I also enjoy photographing said 2/3 wheeled vehicles. I bought a trike from Rhino Trikes in Chard, Somerset a year or so ago - a VS800 Intruder based one that looks the dogs! If you're looking to buy a trike at a reasonable price and of very good build quality then I can really recommend them. The one I have is always under modification, and will be going under the airbrush hopefully soon. I have put a new front end on, Unit leading link forks, custom aluminium yokes etc. You can check out the rebuild via my website - The Trike
I've been forced into riding one after being smashed up by a trainee bus driver on my way to work on my motorbike, as my Suzuki isn't ready to ride I bought a 2nd trike to tied me over as a runaround. It's a CX500 based thing which I've dubbed Satan cos it's been a pain with reliability issues!
I've also ridden several bikes, including a Virago XV1100, Yamaha XJ650, Harley Sportster and a Vmax 1200.I can highly recommend the XV1100 if you need a reliable bike that simply keeps going and is easy to ride, with a low centre of gravity. I have a bum left leg that is near to useless, and I found the XV1100 fitted the bill. Unfortunately due to deteriorating health circumstances thats had to go too! Others I have had the good fortune to ride include the Suzuki Savage 650 (excellent single cylinder bike that), a late lamented Honda Rebel 450 (custom grey import) and a Honda CG125. I started years ago on a 'M' reg Honda Dream 250 (not the 'orrible Superdream, all angular and disgusting in my opinion). My m8 also trades on Ebay, and he is a excellent bike and trike engineer, with a excellent reputation with many biker groups.
As you may gather from the above, I am disabled, with mobility problems which crop up now & then due to the severe injury to my left leg. Some days I cannot get out because of the discomfort. I've had to go into hospital for even more surgery to help sort it resulting in having to have a 2nd Ilizarov frame on my left leg. Checkout - www.ilizarov.org.uk
or www.ilizarov.com - for more info. Once that was removed more problems were raised, the Tibia didn't calcify correctly and I currently have a deviation of 15 degrees in the bone, so I look bowlegged. I'm having to wear a leg brace temporarily whilst the surgeons decide what to do about it!!
I also suffer from what Churchill described as "The Black Dog" - depression. My condition has not been helped by the RTA I suffered in 2005, in fact at times it causes a deeper plunge into it's dark abyss, rendering me incapable of doing much more than breathe and think. At these times I have to wait it out until it passes.
I like horror books, comics and graphic novels. Tend to buy hardback, not a real fan of paperbacks, dont keep so well! Tend to buy 1st editions too, signed when I can find them at reasonable prices.
I collect vintage classic US comics too - mainly from the Golden Age, 30's, 40's n 50's, but also many from the Silver Age, 60's n 70's.
I have returned to buying n playing vinyl records, having built up a nice higher grade HiFi system, and am always looking for those records from my youth as well as newer pressings.
Also I built resin models of warrior type women.
There is also the fact that I am an avid cat lover, got 12 now. One though is my mums, which we're now looking after since she passed away early 2007. 4 were my step sons, but he fell on hard times and we ended up with them. I just love the free n easy spirit. Beautiful creatures!
Some of my Cats!!
I also like the old fifties movies and Marilyn Monroe is my favourite film actress.
My favourite bird is the Barn Owl!
This is now my only account. I have been a Ebay member since 2001. It's a pun on words and my nickname. I currently have a feedback score of 100% which has been hard won. This has been mainly due to one or two time wasting idiots who have forced a refund/return of items that they simply didnt use their common sense when buying in the first place!! I am not a professional ebayer, I am a keen private seller/buyer. So I cant afford to have people keep returning stuff that has been adequately described, and only needs some common sense to be used in assessing the risk in bidding!! So all I ask is, please read the description carefully, and if in doubt ask questions.
I like to use eBay as it's meant to be, buying and selling internationally items that are fairly priced. (Not cheaply; I believe those days on eBay are gone now, but you can still find what you want at a fair price, whether new or second hand)
I have an interest in several things/subjects/hobbies - whatever you want to call them
- Motorbikes & Trikes: riding them mainly but also customising them and going to meets and races!
- Photography - At race meets, my cats, landscapes. I have 3 pro digital cameras, 2 pro flash guns and various filters. I like the effect that InfraRed photography produces, so I've had one of the Nikon digital cameras converted to take IR permanently. Saves having to use a tripod all the time and filters with resultant long exposures.
- IT & computers - I have constructed my own network now consisting of 2 laptops (my wife's Acer and my Apple Mac Pro Book). They're linked to a wireless router. There is also 1 Multi-purpose printer connected into the network via the router. The whole lot now has access to the Internet via a true wireless connection. Not the so called wireless connections that the landline ADSL ISP's are touting, mine is a true wireless connection via secure radio transmitter. It's supplied by a local firm who are a success story. My connection is not a contended service, so I can benefit from having a slower connection that is in actuality faster than alot of so called higher speed ISP connections. Also the customer service is far superior to any of the larger ISP's. If I phone up with a problem I speak to an actual engineer in England who speaks correct english, not some jumped up advisor based in Pakistan or India reading from a script.
- Reading, horror novels & British mystery/thriller writers mainly
- Music, both playing and listening - I fiddle about on guitar and with computer based midi. I've built an electric guitar, based on the Fender Stratocaster design.
- Collecting, US comics (including UK comics that fit this genre), Female warrior figures (either in kit form or already made, or PVC statuette.)
Majority of the items I will be selling will revolve around these interests.
Having been a Ebayer since 2001 with several years experience and a 100% feedback score, I endeavour to give the kind of service that I would like to receive. Occassionally there is a hiccup so if anyone who purchases items off me, or sells to me, has any queries in regards I would much prefer them to contact me to resolve issues, rather than start a merry-go-round of tit4tat bad feedback and comments that get no one anywhere. I also do not appreciate ebayers who reach for the "item not received/as described button" without trying to reach some accommodation regarding it with me first. I will block anyone who does this. This is how I have always attempted to resolve any issues I've had with Ebay traders and, as a seller, have never had to leave bad feedback yet for anyone!
IMPORTANT: I only accept the following methods of payment:
- Paypal - especially for international transactions - it's better this way, safer for ALL parties
- Cash - on collection. (If you want to send it via a secure signed for route thats up to you) - not unsecure post though, if it goes missing you have no recourse for reimbursement, so is a very stupid way to send money.
Please do not bid on my auctions unless you can pay by one of the above methods!
Please also remember I am disabled so at times I may not be able to get items out as quick as some may want. I only ask buyers to be patient, they will ALWAYS get their items.
