Things I sell
I specialise in selling high-end top-name womens and childrens clothing as individual lots or great value bundles. But if I find some interesting oddity I might list it just to see how it goes.
Quality
I pride myself on the quality of my goods and service - unless it's Brand New With Tags - everything is either steam cleaned or freshly laundered in non-biological powder - although I'm not brilliant with the iron !.
I appreciate that descriptions can be subjective so for your information this is what I mean when I describe the quality of my items :-
Factory Second - brand new with factory tags but with a fault (usually a small mark or hole) which will be clearly identified and photographed in my listing
BNWT Brand New With tags - store perfect with card swing tags and / or strings
BNWOT Brand New Without Tags - As New - In my honest opinion looks completely unworn has original store finish to fabric and does not look like it has been laundered
Excellent - Has been worn once or twice and shows minimal wash wear (ie very light bobbling), has no visable faults (no holes, stains etc), may have a dry-cleaning tag attached indicating that it has been professionally cleaned.
Very Good Condition - Has been worn, may show light wash wear but no holes, stains or no major faults. All zips buttons and poppers will be fully functioning but may have chipped paint.
Vintage / Worn Look / Shabby Chic - Some of the denim jeans and the surf brands which I sell have a deliberate 'vintage' 'worn-look' (eg. fat face brand) These items have distressed fabric, scuffs and sometimes even small holes in the fabric which are entirely intentional as part of the design. These garments are NOT faulty they are designed this way - I point it out for clarity.
Good Used Condition / Fit for Play - Has been worn and laundered, may show signs of reasonable wear (eg: bobbling on fleeces, scuffs on the hems of jeans, small marks, small stains which I may have tried to remove, slightly mishapen tshirts)
I try hard not to sell anything lower quality than this unless it is fantastic designer gear than merits just one more outing and this will be CLEARLY stated in the description.
As a general rule of thumb I look at a piece and if I wouldn't put it on my own kids I won't sell it.
Auction Reserves / Buy it Now
Most of my clothing bundles have a reserve of £2.00-£3.00 per item, you can find the number of items at the top of my listings and figure this out for yourself quite simply. The reserve represents the lowest bid that I am prepared to accept on this bundle in order to come out with win-win situation providing a bargain for your family and small profit for mine.
Once the reserve has been met the opportunity to 'Buy It Now' (normally for around £3 - £4 per item) vanishes and bidding can be a bit frenzied and often does go higher than if a buyer had simply taken the BIN option
I always offer free UK postage to any buyer opting for the Buy It Now .... which often makes it the most attractive deal.
MAKE ME AN OFFER
Some of my single item auctions have a 'buy it now' price and the option to press a button to 'make me an offer'
PLEASE PLEASE DON'T LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE TO MAKE ME AN OFFER BECAUSE I MIGHT NOT HAVE TIME TO RESPOND BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS AND EBAY AUTOMATICALLY DECLINES YOU OFFER WITHOUT ME GETTING A CHANCE TO LOOK AT IT OR CONTACT YOU BACK !!.
Returns Policy
Let me just say I am NOT Marks and Spencers I am just a mum trying to make a bit extra for her family so here is MY returns policy ...
As a responsible business seller I offer full 7 day no quibble returns policy on all FIXED PRICE BUY IT NOW items... (you pay return postage)
On AUCTION items I will refund if an item is grossly misdescribed (ie: If I miss a major fault or if measurements are incorrect). I always try to describe items honestly according to my glossery of quality terms so please check what I've written to make sure that my idea of VGC is the same as yours!.
If you wish to avail yourself of my returns policy, please email me via 'ask seller a question'.
Note ......I provide this high level of customer service on the basis that you leave me some positive feedback (if you truly cannot find anything nice to say about the garment then about my customer service / courteous comms or something else you have found positive about our transaction) - BEFORE YOU GET YOUR REFUND... There is no point in me refunding and then getting negged or neutral for my efforts.
Feedback policy
You may have read about the new feedback policies ebay are introducing. So here is my feedback policy which I hope you will agree makes sense ...
Please leave me some feedback when you recieve your item to let me know that your purchase has arrived safely and to let the community know your experience of dealing with me. I will feedback you back by return.
I believe that negative, reputation damaging, feedback should only be left after every other avenue has been exhausted.
I believe that negs should only be left for non-paying bidders, people selling fake or counterfeit items and people who grossly misdescribe goods.
I never sell fakes, always pay immediately and try my very best to accurately describe goods according to my glossery of quality terms ... so on this basis you should never have cause to neg me .... however If you ever feel agreaved by our transaction for whatever reason please contact me first and I promise to do everything in my power to resolve the situation.
Postage
As a trusted powerseller I wil take responsibility for you actually recieving your purchases.... you won't catch me waving a proof of postage at you, wiping my hands of my responsibility and leaving you to the tender mercy of the Royal Mail.
I use signed for or traceable means for all parcels so that you will have the reassurance of actually receiving your goods or a full refund guarenteed.
Most items are despatched within 24 hours (believe me my hubby wants it out the door). I use waterproof mailbags and boxes wrapped securely with parcelling tape. I copy your address straight from your order so please ensure that it is correct. I obtain proof of posting for every item.
My competitive recorded delivery postal charges reflect cost of packing materials / stamps / and my time.
They do NOT include any hidden seller costs like laundry, listing fees or paypal fees, these are bourne by me.
Statement of beliefs
I believe in recycling and reusing clothes to reduce the need for agrochemicals like pesticides used in growing cotton or harmful chemical dyes used in clothing production.
I believe that clothing workers in Bangladesh, Malaysia and Vietnam should have a greater share of the huge profits circulating in the apparel sector which is why I source many of my items from charity shops like Oxfam, and Save the Children.
I believe that second-hand should not mean second-rate and that great quality clothes that have been well looked after should have more than one lease of life !
I believe that feeling good about youself and the clothes you wear should be the right of everyone regardless of size which is why I have stocked items from UK size 6 - 28.
I believe that there are more fun things for families to do together than trawl around shopping malls on the weekends looking at clothes.
I believe you're entitled to desk skiving on ebay every now and again to compensate you for all the extra hours you do for free.
