Cans of Film ready for sorting. Aways a surprise!!!!
I have been making and collecting films for thirtyfive years and over that time have built up a unique archive of cine footage of the Isle of Wight. Restoring and preserving fragile reels of film is a fascinating hobby, but costs money. To bring my collection to a wider audience, and to raise the necessary funds to collect and preserve more footage for future generations, I am producing a series of DVDs "Captured On Cine". These do not just show the old film but also feature the views as they are today.
Film Collectors Convention. Helps raise funds!!!!
In the 70s and 80s I used Super 8mm to make my films and with the help of a group of friends we produced animation, silly stories and comedy (or so we thought). In the late 80s when Video came in we gave up film making as film stock became very expensive and difficult to find. I then turned more to film collecting for the next ten years as I was not happy with the quality of video pictures and editing equipment. When digital video was introduced I took up film making once again and have been able to transfer all my old films on to DVD as well as produce new films in even better quality then was ever possible with amatuer film systems.
Quote from a satisfied customer:
"I'm only 20 minutes into CAPTURED ON CINE #1 and I felt I had to put the DVD on pause to e-mail you.
So far, this is the best 'bygone' film I've ever seen. No doubt about it. The modern footage showing then and now (a big interest of mine) which is professionally shot, the decent narration (a real person and not an awful nerd voice!) and the quality of the old clips, always the right duration and never overstaying their welcome. It's worth its weight in gold (actually, being a DVD that needn't mean much!). They are genuinely, in my eyes, brilliant. I'm sure this won't be my last purchase from you, and you can quote me on that. You're a genius. :o)"
