My name is Geoffrey Miller,
and I am the author of three books on British diplomatic and naval policy in
the period 1900 to 1915 -- Superior Force, Straits and The
Millstone. In 20 years spent researching these subjects, I acquired a
large library with many duplicates, which I initially began to sell to
finance the research for the planned fourth volume of the “Straits” series.
With the rampant consolidation in the publishing
industry during the past decade, it proved impossible to
interest a publisher in the fourth volume, so writing
was abandoned in favour of book-selling.
After four
years of regular week-day sales of books on eBay, I
transferred to evening sales late in December 2008 to
try to ease the constant self-imposed listing deadlines
but have now decided to list the same number of books,
but bi-weekly, with auctions scheduled to end on Tuesday
and Thursday afternoons.

Book dimensions are given in
inches, to the nearest quarter-inch, in the format width x height.
Please
note that, to differentiate them from soft-covers and paperbacks, modern
hardbacks are still invariably described as being ‘cloth’ when they are, in
fact, predominantly bound in paper-covered boards pressed to resemble cloth. |

I value your custom (and my
feedback rating). Also, I am a bibliophile: I want books to arrive in the
same condition in which they were dispatched. For this reason, all books are
securely wrapped and posted in a cardboard container. If any book is
significantly not as
described, I will offer a full refund, including return postage. Unless the
size of the book precludes this, hardback books with a dust-jacket are
provided with a protective cover, while
hardback books without a dust-jacket are provided with a clear film cover.
The Royal Mail, in my experience, offers an excellent service, but things
can occasionally go wrong.
However, I believe it is my responsibility to guarantee delivery.
If any book is lost or damaged in transit, I will offer a full refund.
Thank you for looking, and good luck if
you decide to bid.
