DOODLEHOUSES

My brother and I have been keeping chickens for years, grown up with them and love them.  He lives and works in Sussex and I live just outside Cambridge.  When it was time to get a new coop, my brother bought an ebay special ... a chinese import which then just fell apart.  He thought this was outrageous so between us we set about designing a hen house for ourselves which was practical, affordable and good looking.  I am an artist and my brother an engineer and the end result was a Doodlehouse.  The idea snowballed from there and here we are, swamped with orders and taking it further than we ever would have imagined.  We are in the process of testing different materials such as recycled coffee cup sheeting, would you believe!  We currently produce the Doodlehouse on a carbon-neutral basis using only wood from sustainable forests and we would like to continue to 'do our bit'.   

The Doodlehouse is a practical solution to today's chicken keeping.  With so much publicity surrounding ex battery hens, many people would like to re-home but don't know where to start.  Doodlehouses are an affordable alternative starting from the smallest house designed for a smaller garden to the giant version!  We also offer shuttering, spare parts, run attachments and soon, 'pimp my coop' will arrive offering some great gadgets such as solar lights and hencams to go with your Doodlehouse!
