Hi,and welcome to our page! I am Tonya and I have been into antiques and collectables since I was a small child, attending garage sales and flea-markets with my parents. I remember stopping at my favorite flea-market when on the way to visit my grandma and grandpa. Normally, I would be napping in the back seat and my dad or mom would say "wake up, we are at the flea-market", I would bail out and dad would hand me a few dollars...it was the good ol'days then...I would run off to find things like an Archie comic book, unusual salt and peppers or perhaps a doll or some jewelry. I always loved taking my grandma something special, and no matter how tacky it was she always found a special "Front and Center" spot for it. I think back now about all the sales I went to with my parents and these memories are priceless as I can remember my mom was always just a few steps behind, watching carefully like a good mother does.
As the teenage years approached my collections continued to grow and I soon met my future hubby Dale who also had a bug for collecting. As teenagers we did normal teenage things like concerts,fairs,swimming and other teenage fun..these were all funded from working and having our very own antique booth at the tender age of 16.... your not so normal teenage thing ! We have now been married for 20 years and we are still going strong. We still love antiques and love thinking about the memories and times that go with them. We have passed the love on to our two lovely teenage daughters, who have begun saving treasures for their own futures. I love watching them scour garage sales and flea-markets, they bring things home and scrub and work for hours making sure their finds are in tip-top condition. I can see that we have rubbed off on them even more than I realized. Hopefully they can one day pass their love of collecting onto their own children.
