We are proud to be members of the Independent Online Booksellers Association (IOBA) and we follow their strict ethical code with all our sales, not just the books.

Which brings us to out 8 part promise.

1.      We PROMISE to send all items in plain packaging with the bookshop return address.  However, if you are outside Europe, we will have to give a circumspect description of the item and a value on the customs form.

2.      We PROMISE not to deceive or equivocate about the rarity of an item.  We have been stung by sellers pushing tatt as a first edition.  We have been disgusted by sellers describing bog standard Oxfam Harry Potter paperbacks as rarities or collectables.  You don have to stand for it.

3.      We PROMISE not to add spurious insurance charges.  UK consumer law is quite clear on liability for delivery, and we are sick of having to deal with vendors who want to sell us our rights.  Under UK law, insurance is the sellersresponsibility, not the buyers so its included in our shipping.

4.      We PROMISE to give a discount on shipping of orders for multiple items.  We use apply a standard shipping charge for most items; if you think its too much, drop us a line before bidding and wel look at it again.

5.      We PROMISE to give rock solid binding quotes for overseas shipping.  I afraid we really don have the time to list ALL the options for every item, so get in touch if you are bidding from abroad.  If you use the contact a seller link, we will post our reply on the listing to make it legal.

6.      If you change your mind before we send you an item, we PROMISE to refund in full, no quibble.

7. If you want to return an item, we PROMISE to refund the full cost of the item once it gets back to us in the condition we sent it.   If we misdescribed or missold the item, we will even give you a little extra to cover your expenses for returning it.  If we got it right, we may keep all or some of the shipping charge to cover our costs.
