Back to previous page  ...just a few brief notes about myself!...I`ve lived all of my life in the beautiful Welsh capital of Cardiff,a region steeped in ancient monuments,myth & magic;from an early age I loved nothing more than creating art,which progressed through my school years until I was lucky enough to do a degree in Visual Art (specialising in portraiture) for 3 years at Swansea Institute,which I graduated from as a Batchelor of Fine Arts.My influences range from the early Renaissance - the beautiful timeless frescoes of Giotto & Piero Della Francesca,through to Michaelangelo,Caravaggio & later on the Pre-Raphaelites,Art Nouveau,& from today`s art world the wonderful Alan Lee.  I always strive with my art to convey emotion & feeling,a certain melancholy & romanticism,so for that moment in time when you look upon the portrait there is an instant connection,conjuring up a feeling of intimacy with the subject.................Andrew Fry,June 2009.
