About G & J Stained Glass
I am a skilled self taught glass artist located in Leyland, Lancashire, UK and have been working with glass for more than seventeen years. It started as a hobby making stained glass pieces, but since discovering Dichroic Glass I have, for the last five years, specialised in creating fused Dichroic glass jewellery (pendants/earrings/bracelets/cufflinks). Now as a husband and wife partnership a large part of our business is through ebay.
The Production Method
Dichroic glass is cut to shape and placed in the kiln in layers with other compatible glass and fired to a high temperature (approximately 850 degrees centigrade). When the heating process is complete the pieces are left in the kiln to anneal which gives them their strength and durability. There can be up to three firings to get the desired effect. Every piece is carefully finished and the findings added making a unique item of jewellery.
Please enjoy browsing through our pieces of wearable art.
