Information for charity sellers. If you are considering selling an item, and donating all or part of the proceds to Haworth Cat Rescue, please read this paragraph carefully..............Firstly, thank you for thinking of us. Please note, the money you donate will be donated to Mission Fish, not Haworth Cat Rescue, and Mission Fish will (after taking a percentage) forward the balance to us.........Mission Fish will take a minimum of £2, even if your item sells for less. They will keep £0.40 and send us £1.60. For higher amounts, Mission Fish will keep 4% of the amount you donate and send the balance to us. If that's ok with you, then it's ok with us too, we just wanted you to be aware of what you might be letting yourself in for.......All auctions run by Haworth*Cat*Rescue will benefit our charity 100% (less normal eBay fees) - Mission Fish don't take a percentage of these auctions. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED AS A DIRECT SELLER FOR HAWORTH CAT RESCUE, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL VIA ASQ AND INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. WE'LL CONTACT YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE......Thank you for reading this, and good luck with your auction.......... All the money that we raise on eBay goes direct to Haworth Cat Rescue, and Haworth Cat Rescue pays the eBay fees and the paypal fees (when this payment method is used by buyers). Cheques/postal orders are made to HCR and we have our own Paypal account which feeds into our bank account. Our bank account is a two signature account, as recommended by the Charity Commission. We also offer the payment option of direct bank transfer. If we need to buy packaging materials, then these come out of the money we've received on eBay, but no individual gets any money from our auctions and no-one in our charity is paid for selling on eBay for us (or for anything else for that matter!).
Our auctions will last for
seven or ten days. Please bear with
us if you ask a question – there may be a delay in replying to you, depending
on how busy our volunteers are. UK Buyers – can pay by UK cheque drawn on a UK bank; by UK postal
order; by direct bank transfer. You can also pay by Paypal - although as there will be a charge to us for this you might like to consider paying by another method. Non-UK Buyers – you can pay by GBP sterling check or cashier's check. You can also pay by Paypal, but please note that there will be a charge to us if you choose this payment method. We will pack your item very very carefully, and we would
like you to tell us if something gets lost or arrives broken - we will claim compensation if possible. Buyer is to pay postage costs, which are
quoted on the auction. We will combine
if possible if a buyer wins more than one auction. In some cases (valuable items) we will insist on and include
insurance in the postage price. We normally post as soon as possible after
receiving your payment, but it depends on a volunteer being available to go to
the Post Ofice - please accept our apologies if you have to wait a few days for
your parcel. We ask you to leave feedback when you receive your purchase to confirm receipt, and we will reciprocate as soon as possible. We would prefer you to contact us before leaving feedback if there is a problem, and we will do our best to resolve it. ![]()
All about Haworth Cat Rescue
Haworth Animal Welfare (Cat Rescue) is a UK Charity, registered with the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales. Our registered charity number is 1058218. Our address is: Haworth Cat Rescue was originally set up by a group of Haworth women to try
and improve the lot of abandoned and neglected cats in the area. The charity is purely local, run by
volunteers with no paid employees, and receives no head office or central
funding. We enjoy a good reputation
locally and cover a wide area including Halifax, Bradford, Huddersfield,
Skipton and their environs, together with the Haworth/Keighley area. In 1998 we won the Friskies
Petcare Foundation Award for the best cat rescue in Britain. Our aims are to rescue, neuter
(where appropriate) and rehome where possible, cats which have been neglected
or abandoned. We never have cats put
to sleep because they are unhomeable - they simply stay with us as long as they
need to. We take in cats for a large
number of reasons. Their owners may
have died or gone into residential accommodation; they may have become lost
possibly as a result of moving house; their owners may have lost their jobs and
be unable to afford to keep the cat.
There are other - sadder - reasons.
The family may have had a child and lost interest in the cat; the cat
may have lost its "kittenish" appeal; the family may dump the cat
rather than pay for kennels at holiday time. When rehoming cats we take every
care that the cat is going to the ideal home.
We don't mind if people are poor, old, infirm, live in flats or have
other animals. If we have a cat that
is suitable for the new home and we feel that it will be happy and cared for
there, then we are happy to rehome. We
also place feral cats (cats who have been born in outside homes and missed
important early handling) in farms, stables or safe factory environments, where
they will be sheltered and fed, but not have to cope with people. They pay for their keep by providing an
environmentally friendly rodent control. In order to achieve all this, we
have to spend a great deal of our time fund-raising. One of our biggest source of income is by selling goods that
have been donated by well-wishers. We
sell these at sales and fayres, and are pleased to sell some of the nicer
pieces to a world-wide market by using eBay. Other ways you can help us
include holding sponsored events, making regular donations of money or cat
food, telling your friends about us, holding coffee mornings or party evenings
– the list is endless! Some people cannot have cats, but
like to think of one of our permanent strays as their own. We have a sponsorship scheme for these cats,
and details can be provided on request.
It costs as much or as little as you like to join. We also have Standing Order forms for those
people who wish to make regular donations by way of their Bank account. If you are a UK tax payer, and you intend to
make a donation to us, please consider signing a Gift Aid form. Under recent Government legislation, a
donation of any amount can now be made under Gift Aid, and we can reclaim 28.2p
back on each pound donated under the scheme.
It will cost you nothing, but the accumulated amount we gain through
this scheme has a significantly worthwhile impact on our income. Please ask for more details if you are not
familiar with this scheme. We also have a Membership scheme,
and will be happy to supply details on request. We issue a newsletter about four times each year and will add
your name and address to our mailing list if you ask us to. Haworth Cat Rescue's current items on sale. Note: Anonymous names may appear more than once and may represent different bidders.
