Horsetan on eBay!

I'm the proud owner of a Simpson RX8 helmet similar to this one!

Intro
I've been an e-Bay buyer since May 2001, and reside in the UK. eBay has brought back some of the things I grew up with, and a good deal more.

I've had modest success in bidding for Action Man Space Ranger items (see picture), full face helmets (old and modern styles), original parts for my old BMW. I've also bought a few items related to my greatest love: horses. I've shared a small number of them, and managed somehow to get them to race. eBay provided lightweight synthetic racing saddles and aluminium racing stirrups, which continue to see regular service. More hilariously, I started buying some beach angling kit - see "Favourite Items" below! - which has now turned into an opportunity to form another collection.

I collect: old full-face helmets with locking visors / faceshields
These old full-face helmets are the type made in the '70s and early '80s for motor racing and motorcycling. These have non-flush-fitting visors/faceshields and quite narrow face apertures. The wearer needed to push in the press-studs to lock the visor shut and stop it from rattling! These old helmets were usually quite well-padded, which could make them heavy and hot to wear compared to the helmets now available. I now own the Simpson Model 30 helmet shown here:

An interesting version was made for motor racing from about 1978 to 1980, and was worn by, amongst others, Niki Lauda and John Watson. To achieve greater driver safety it was thought that, by reducing the face aperture, less of the driver's facial skin would be exposed in the event of fire. (A fire-resistant balaclava has also long been mandatory.) Most helmet makers reduced the aperture to a narrow eyeslot, but Bell Helmets went further with their racing Bell Star, and split the already narrow eyeslot into two separate eyeholes! It did cover even more of the driver's face, but could also lead to some strange visibility problems...
Closing the visor on the twin-eyehole Bell Star, in addition to wearing a (double-layered) balaclava underneath, must have made race driving conditions very warm!
I would particularly like to collect an example of the twin-eyehole Bell Star, so if you can help, please contact me. You should be able to send a message via my e-Bay ID "horsetan". I have come across one UK owner of such a helmet, but he's not selling!!

I now own a Simpson Model 30 and RX8 (see pics at top of page), and a Simpson RX-4 with built-in padded Nomex headsock, as well as a new RX8 Sidewinder!

Favourite Items

Hunter Streamfisher rubber thigh wading boots (I've got a pair of the current generation of Streamfishers, as well as the previous versions - all of them very well-made)

I have in effect formed a library of traditional rubber fishing waders, stretching from roughly the 1970s to the present day. Model names that will be familiar to keen anglers comprise: Uniroyal / Gates /Hunter: Coarsefisher, Shorefisher, Streamfisher, Reelfisher, Keenfisher, as well as the Daiwa and Westgate-badged versions of these. Le Chameau: Delta, Deltanord. Aigle: Nylspinning

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of "Hunter" wellington boots, I have also managed to collect all the different colour variations which "Hunter" have produced on a limited basis for charity. Strange, but wonderful in their own way.... This doesn't include the light amber version commissioned by the champagne house "Veuve Clicquot", which I also acquired! Some new Hunter colours - merlot and chocolate - have also been added to the collection

The pair in the photo above are "powder blue"! The ones below are traditional green:
