History/background
We've been selling on Ebay for almost 7 years now. Under a different name (Attic-of-Art) we have a Shop selling arty bits & pieces.
Why these charities?
During the early days following Joe's death we were inundated with offers of help - people wanted to send cards & flowers but we quickly decided to channel these kind offers into raising money for charities. Joe had always delighted in dropping pennies in every charity box he saw and we felt that we should use his memory to raise funds. We chose Children with Leukaemia as we felt so helpless - so much more needs to be known about this awful disease. And the Marine Conservation Society was chosen with Joe firmly in mind - he adored sea creatures as well as the beach. His 8th birthday was spent at The Deep in Hull and The Blue Planet was one of his favourite DVDs! Thank you in advance for all your help in raising money in Joe's memory.
Payment policy
PAYPAL only - 50% of what you pay will go to Joe's charities.

More about Joe B
Our wonderful son Joe had a difficult few early years before he was diagnosed as autistic and then started to receive the understanding of others. The start of 2007 was the start of a brand new exciting life for Joe - he moved to a new house with a big garden, started a new school and his baby brother arrived! All big big changes for a child with autism but Joe took to his new home, school & baby brother with enthusiasm. In a short space of time he made many friends and came to adore little Ash - even changing nappies! His future seemed so bright but over just one awful week in September 2007 all of this was cut short.
Misdiagnosed as having tonsillitus, he spent a week off school and went to hospital on the evening of Friday 14 September with suspected meningitus. By the early hours of Saturday we learned he had Leukaemia and by the early hours of Sunday, our darling Joe B had lost his fight for life, aged 8 years & almost 10 months old. Acute Myeloid Leukaemia had taken our boy from us but we feel we must continue in his memory.
THANK YOU! AS OF 16 MARCH 2008 (6 MONTHS AFTER LOSING JOE) WE HAVE RAISED £54.23 FOR MARINE CONSERVATION SOCIETY & £48.39 for CHILDREN WITH LEUKAEMIA VIA EBAY SALES. THANK YOU!
