Hi, I’m Simon (a.k.a “Oh my Buddha!!!!), the owner of “Sticks and Buddhas”.

I am British and live in the Philippines with my beautiful wife, Grace. As you probably guessed I am very interested in Martial Arts and have experience in Karate, Wing Tsun and Latosa Escrima. On moving to the Philippines I searched out an instructor and am proud to be a private student of GM “Yuli” Romo and his “Bahad Zubu Mangtas Baraw” style. (Please read my guide for further details).

In 2006 I brought my first pair of sticks in the Philippines. After checking the prices online I was amazed at how expensive other retailers were selling them for. So, I started to sell a few pair of sticks at a time and the rest is history! With a mission statement of “Treating our customers like our friends” I’m very proud to say our small business is flourishing with customers from all around the world.

Our success is also due to the great stock lines I have been able to secure. We buy in bulk from local masters and Filipino Martial Artists so we are able to pass the price savings and quality on to our customers. I have also been able to establish a great aluminium and live range, secured from a pandayan (blacksmith’s) in the Philippines. We also strive to provide hard to find items like different length sticks (24”, 26”30” etc, etc) and sparring equipment.

We are on a continual quest to offer the best selection of FMA equipment at the best prices.
