Inserting the pegs
|
I am a self employed engineer but for about five years in the recent past I worked as a kitchen fitter. I enjoyed the work but found the process of jointing the worktops quite hit and miss and very stressfull. There seemed to be too many variables which were not catered for. The kitchen walls could be out of square, variations in the tolerance of the worktop, the difficulty of working on the underside of the worktop, all made the desired outcome (a perfect joint) a bit of a lottery. I seemed to waste an unacceptable amount of time trying to set up the jig, then further time hand fitting the joint to make it acceptable. I finaly had the idea for these pegs which can be used with any standard worktop jig which uses a 30 mm guide bush. The system quickly positions the jig exactly in position for cutting the male joint. It is simple to use and once I had discovered the system I achieved a perfect joint with no need for re-working every time.
The kit which I have put together comes complete with the pegs, and an instructional DVD and booklet. which not only gives a complete guide on how to cut worktop joints using the pegs, but invaluable hints and tips on installation of kitchen base units and how to set up the worktops prior to jointing, especially for the DIY enthusiast who is fitting his or her own kitchen.
The pegs are precision made in nylon and should last many years. The time saved will pay the cost many times over. Click on the link below to see a short vidio explaining the principles of the system.
The use of these pegs for worktop jointing has been patented.
