Richard McGuire is a photographer
based in Ottawa, Canada. He specializes in landscapes and travel
photography.
He got his first camera at age five, but became more
serious about photography when he studied journalism in the 1970s and
his studies included courses in photojournalism.
In 1977, he traveled overland from Europe to India,
bringing with him a used Ricoh camera with screw-mount, fixed-length
lenses to record his travels. He still counts some of the pictures taken
on that trip among his favorites.
He worked for several community newspapers in the
1980s and 1990s where reporters were also expected to be photographers,
winning awards for both writing and photography. He was an early adopter
of computer technology, launching a publication about computers in 1984
called INPUT.
Today McGuire works at Canada's Parliament, continuing
his photography in his spare time.
Over the years, he has visited more than 50 countries
and has traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States. He
regularly photographs in Ontario and Quebec, and has made frequent trips
through Canada's Atlantic provinces.
McGuire's photos have been widely published.
In addition to selling photos for publication, he also
sells prints to individual collectors. A wide selection of 8" X 12"
prints are sold through his eBay store, matted for standard 11" X 14"
frames. Photos are printed by a lab on Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper
to last for decades.
Customer satisfaction has always been an important
goal, and McGuire works hard to maintain a positive feedback score with
his eBay sales.
