DHARMA***
Dharma " means "protection ". By practicing Buddha's teachings we protect ourselves from suffering and problems. All the problems we experience during daily life originate in ignorance, and the method for eliminating ignorance is to practice Dharma.
Practicing Dharma is the supreme method for improving the quality of our human life. The quality of life depends not upon external development or material progress, but upon the inner development of peace and happiness. For example, in the past many Buddhists lived in poor and underdeveloped countries, but they were able to find pure, lasting happiness by practicing what Buddha had taught.
If we integrate Buddha's teachings into our daily life, we will be able to solve all our inner problems and attain a truly peaceful mind. Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. If we first establish peace within our minds by training in spiritual paths, outer peace will come naturally; but if we do not, world peace will never be achieved, no matter how many people campaign for it.
Everyone wants to be happy and no one wants to suffer, but very few people understand the real causes of happiness and suffering. We tend to look for happiness outside ourselves, thinking that if we had the best house, the best car, the best job, and the right friends we would be truly happy. We spend almost all our time adjusting to the external world, trying to make it conform to our wishes. All our life we have tried to surround ourselves with people and things that make us feel comfortable, secure, or stimulated, yet still we have not found pure and lasting happiness.
It is time we sought happiness from a different source. Happiness is a state of mind, so the real source of happiness must lie within the mind, not in external conditions. If our mind is pure and peaceful we shall be happy, regardless of our external circumstances, but if it is impure and not peaceful we can never be truly happy, no matter how hard we try to change our external conditions. We could change our home or our partner countless times, but until we change our restless, discontented mind we shall never find true happiness.
Until now we have cherished ourself above all others, and for as long as we continue to do this our suffering will never end. However, if we learn to cherish all beings more than ourself we shall soon enjoy the bliss of enlightenment. The path to enlightenment is really very simple - all we need to do is stop cherishing ourself and learn to cherish others. All other spiritual realizations will naturally follow from this.
Our instinctive view is that we are more important than everyone else, whereas the view of all enlightened beings is that it is others who are more important. Which of these views is more beneficial? In life after life, since beginning less time, we have been slaves to our self-cherishing mind. We have trusted it implicitly and obeyed its every command, believing that the way to solve our problems and find happiness is to put ourself before everyone else. We have worked so hard and for so long for our own sake, but what do we have to show for it? Have we solved all our problems and found the lasting happiness we desire? No. It is clear that pursuing our own selfish interests has deceived us. After having indulged our self-cherishing for so many lives, now is the time to realize that it simply does not work. Now is the time to switch the object of our cherishing from ourself to all living beings.
Countless enlightened beings have discovered that by abandoning self-cherishing and cherishing only others they came to experience true peace and happiness. If we practice the methods they taught, there is no reason why we should not be able to do the same. We cannot expect to change our mind overnight, but through patiently and consistently practicing the instructions on cherishing others, while at the same time accumulating merit, purifying negativity, and receiving blessings, we can gradually replace our ordinary self-cherishing attitude with the sublime attitude of cherishing all living beings.
To achieve this we do not need to change our lifestyle, but we do need to change our views and intentions. Our ordinary view is that we are the center of the universe and that other people and things derive their significance principally from the way in which they affect us. Our car, for example, is important simply because it is ours, and our friends are important because they make us happy. Strangers, on the other hand, do not seem so important because they do not directly affect our happiness, and if a stranger's car is damaged or stolen we are not that concerned. This self-centered view of the world is based on ignorance and does not correspond to reality. This view is the source of all our ordinary, selfish intentions. It is precisely because we think 'I am important, I need this, and I deserve that' that we engage in negative actions, which result in an endless stream of problems for ourself and others.
By practicing these instructions we can develop a realistic view of the world, based on an understanding of the equality and interdependence of all living beings. Once we view each and every living being as important we shall naturally develop good intentions towards them. Whereas the mind that cherishes only ourself is the basis for all impure, samsaric experience, the mind that cherishes others is the basis for all the good qualities of enlightenment.
Cherishing others is not so difficult - all we need to do is to understand why we should cherish others and then make a firm decision to do so. Through meditating on this decision we shall develop a deep and powerful feeling of cherishing for all beings. We then carry this special feeling into our daily life.

The majority of our sacred blessed and empowered spiritual items are from the private collection of Lama Thubten Dagom Rinpoche, a Tibetan Shaman and are always untouched and completely original. Lama Thubten does not clean, alter or do any repair work on any of his sacred items.
We do not clean or dust any of our sacred items in any way as they can be very delicate and can be damaged by cleaning and Lama Thubten believes that the dust and the original patina on a sacred item increases its power and is actually a special part of the item or amulet.
The age that we give to our sacred items are always approximate as it is very hard to tell the exact date of a sacred item that comes from a Buddhist tradition without any documentation, but they are as accurate as is possible. When the objects are made of materials such as metal, bone, shell or gemstones the objects can only be dated by clues given by their degree of wear and any tiny differences in design which change over time. It is quite possible that the objects are much older or younger than the age stated.

In traditional shamanic cultures any item the shaman uses for his spiritual work can be considered as "a sacred and holy spiritual item". (Consecrated for shamanic or magical use by the shaman). These items you purchase, make or receive during your shamanic-career are generally considered to help you in your shamanic journeys and healing. As a shaman – healer you will already possess some items and tools for your trade. There is already a huge amount of sacred positive power in our spiritually charged blessed and empowered items and there is a large force of attraction with our sacred items that will make unknowing people in the close vicinity want to touch and hold them. It is usual for shaman and healers to keep their tools away from touching hands, this way avoiding energetic pollution or an accidental discharge of energy. If you buy, make or receive some blessed, sacred and empowered gifts you should be very conscious about how you keep these items. You must have the correct place to rest them when they are not in use, which is appropriate to them and their sacred blessed empowerments which are magical and hard for some people to understand. Will you allow people to touch the item? If you are not sure ask the item itself and you will be answered. For the majority of your sacred tools I personally recommend that you do not allow other people to touch them unless you give them your permission. You should watch closely as the efforts and power that you personally have put into an item over many months and years can be seriously reduced in a single touch by some people who do not realise what they are doing. Most of your sacred and powerful tools can be recharged by a cleansing afterwards, but it is better to avoid this happening. Imagine that you are about to use your melong (mirror), sacred stone or empowered carving when you suddenly realise that it is dysfunctional and some foreign energies are lurking within it !!
Blessed, empowered and charged items possess a life force of their own, their own spirit, soul and power. Observe your sacred empowered items for a short time and they will let you know through emotions, pictures in your mind or in other ways whether it wants and needs to be used at that particular moment. Shamanic items are always inhabited by a spirit and life force and emit a huge and powerful sacred positive energy. The more time, energy and power that you put into a sacred item the more it will be 'in tune' with you and the more powerful it will be for its practical use.
Within your shamanic practice you will purchase and receive sacred gifts. These gifts should always be treated with the utmost respect. The sacred stone, the empowered carving, the wolf tooth or whatever else that you have either purchased or been given has its own soul and life force within and is charged with pure sacred power. It is always necessary to ask the inhabiting spiritual power for its precise applications.

There is much overexploitation of nature nowadays and many of the items in these stores (especially gems, crystals, semiprecious stones and other items) have been taken from the belly of nature without the paying of due respect to their spirits and inner power. ETHICAL ISSUES
There are certain ethical issues around Sacred Blessed and Empowered ritual objects which reflect the very nature of the items themselves. The main one is "should such items ever be sold ?"
Some sacred items have a tradition of not being exchanged for money, most have no such prohibition in their original culture.
Most sacred ritual objects do not carry any emotional charge with native people, and Lama Thubten feels free to offer these without any reservation.
All of our SACRED, BLESSED and LOVED items offered here have to pass Lama Thubten's own sense of correctness. Spiritual-Sky will not offer objects that Lama Thubten does not personally feel happy about offering.
Many people feel that if something is Spiritual, it shouldn't have to cost anything. To Lama Thubten everything is spiritual. Food, clothing, art, music, ritual tools, herbs, toys, medicine- they all are sacred and have their place in life. Buddhist shamanism is just as valuable to some people and as practitioners we must be honored for our time and our service. Some people claim that shaman, gurus, mediums, psychics, metaphysicians, new-age healers, reiki masters and such like are seeking to get rich quick. Let me assure you, it is not a quick and easy road to success. We do have the power of the universal life force flowing through us, it is unencumbered and does guide us.
Lama Thubten claimed his full power to heal himself and help others to heal. As with any spiritual practice we are forced to confront our own fears, our darker self and our shadow self. These are the things that are repressed in ourselves, but contain valuable lessons for our own practice if we learn to accept and to love them. Healing your shadow to claim your own personal power is the key component of many spiritual traditions in Buddhist and any Shamanism.
