StarCards Christmas Charity Auction 2009
StarCards are delighted to present a collection of signed Great Ormond Street Hospital playing cards handsigned by legendary & renowned guitar players from the 5th November 2009, including –
MARK KNOPFLER, ERIC CLAPTON, GARY MOORE, STEVE VAI, FRANCIS ROSSI, RICK PARFITT, CARL VERHEYEN, PHIL HILBORNE, NEIL MURRAY, PAUL CARRACK, JOE BROWN, GUTHRIE GOVAN, SCOTT McKEON & RAMON DIAZ
Highlight of the auction is a Fender Stratocaster Mark Knopfler signature model donated by Fender UK and Bonnersmusic.co.uk of Eastbourne with a hard case as well as a unique display cabinet donated by Wallsoffame.co.uk. The Fender will be signed and personalised by Mark for the winning bidder and will be on display at Bonners until the 15th November.
The auction starts at HERE from 8pm on the 5th November and finishes 10 days later on Sunday 15th November at 8pm

Every card has been handsigned. WE DO NOT SELL PREPRINTS, FACSIMILES OR PHOTOCOPIED SIGNATURES. ALL of the proceeds of your winning auction bid will go to directly to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity by means of this STARCARDS auction.

 About Great Ormond Street
Great Ormond Street Hospital first opened its doors on St Valentine's Day, 14 February 1852, with ten beds. It was the inspiration of Dr Charles West who, appalled by the lack of facilities for very ill children in the capital, had set about raising money for the cause. The first child admitted was two-year-old George Parr suffering from catarrh and diarrhoea - not serious by today's standards, but this was a time when a third of children born in London did not reach adulthood. The new Hospital quickly attracted public support. Queen Victoria, Charles Dickens and author J M Barrie, who donated the copyright to his famous play Peter Pan, were among those to pledge their help. From 1985-87 the Hospital ran the Wishing Well Appeal - supported by joint patrons the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Princess of Wales then agreed to become President of the Hospital and was a regular visitor until her tragic death in 1997.
Today, over 100,000 children every year are treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital. They are embarked on a redevelopment programme to meet the changing needs of the children they see - and equip the Hospital for the 21st century.
