Jason's Japan something stuff.


Batman was my biggest influence. It's true. I hold Batman personally responsible for my enrollment into ebay. It all started, not in Gotham city, but in Nasu, Japan. My wife, Emiko, and I found ourselves at a flea market up there where I spied a Batman puppet from the 1970s. I half jokingly said, 'I bet I can sell that on the internet'. However, I didn't have any cash at the time so Emiko said, 'ok, I'll loan you the cash and IF you sell it you can pay me back'. She didn't really believe that I would, I think, but she was sweet enough to indulge me. 11 days later I was able to pay her back and have a little extra cash in my pocket for myself ... she was gobsmacked. It was from there that I looked to broader horizons and saw potential ... one word flashed into my mind - GODZILLA. Twas then I embarked on my quest for Godzilla collectibles, and other Japanese bits and bobs. Been having fun searching and selling ever since.

My first career was in archaeology, so the searching for collectibles and odd things quite appealed to me. I came to Japan to teach English, just for a bit of a change, and I soon realised I needed some variety to stop me going crazy - English teaching is ok, but gets a bit dull at times so ebay and the e-shop came as welcome alternative. Anyway, the change became bigger than I'd first anticipated ... I'd only originally planned on staying in Japan a year or so ... and now I'm married have been here nearly threee years already. Ebay has become a kind of sideline business now, and quite indispensible. It makes a good supplement and escape from the English teaching routine. One day I may get back to archaeology, though I can't see how at the moment. I have a few other interests I want to pursue ... music, writing, art amongst others, so am going to focus on these interests for a while. As far as ebay goes, I try to do my best to get people what they want, ship as cheap as possible, provide a simple, trouble free service, as far as possible, and show that Japan Something Stuff can be trusted. I have lots of repeat customers, which says a lot I think (please check the feedback and contact me anytime with any questions or concerns). If you're wondering why you have to pay in pounds and not dollars or Yen, if you haven't twigged it by now, I'm English and registered on ebay UK. If you do buy from us please do so with confidence.
